SimplyText is a portable text processor web application coded using HTML, CSS and JavaScript for my own personal use. I love the concept of cloud apps as I work from multiple locations using multiple devices so having access to online apps from anywhere and from any machine makes my life so much simpler. That said I don´t like using over bloated proprietary spyware products from Google, Apple and Microsoft etc.
My requirements are pretty straightforward. I write of lot of text only documents, including my books, do some hobby coding, create the odd newsletter requiring images and I wanted to be able to resize and crop the images from within the app itself without needing additional apps. I needed the app to be able to save in a variety of extensions alongside exporting to PDF and HTML.Spell checking is dealt with by the browser.
features have been limited by design, simply because I don't need anything more. For example there are no options to choose a font.I generally use the default and use whatever browsers provide. There are only three text colour options in light and dark mode, but again its enough for me. All data is saved locally or to an attached network drive, although I may add integration to some of the more popular online storage providers at some point.

As the app is portable your can use it online here or host it yourself on your own website or on a local machine.
The app has some bugs and a couple of nuances especially on some android tablets that need to be fixed but it works fine for me and if its useful to you to use online.
Please note this is a hand coded hobby project and in no way commercial or supported. In essence this an open source project and free for anyone to download, use and modify. It should not be used for commercial gain and I would request that any changes are posted back to me so I can incorporate them into the build for the benefit of all users.
